Cruise Ship Art Auctions Scams

Cruise ship art auctions scams. Their so-called relationships with artists is a lie. I go on a lot of cruises. Because in the end you will overpay for such artwork.
As if any decent artist would risk association with these recalcitrants. Cruise ships shouldnt allow companies to misrepresent their art leading to passengers being scammed. Cruise ship art auctions have the pretense of culture but rarely are any of these pieces sold aboard ships ever on par with Christies or Sothebys -.
Some people go as far as to suggest that cruise ship art auctions use deceptive business practices. I dont think it is the cruise line that scams its passengers as much as it would be the vendors. As I told one recent collector who purchased the entire Rembrandt suite.
Heres a fun scam. Is Park West a legitimate company to deal with. A Harford County man is among them.
The bottom line is this. Another big one is the whole port shopping scheme. I too am an art appraiser and it is so discouraging to recieve requests for appraisals of these items.
For some reason most cruise lines persist in having these scam like marketing programs on their ships. We attended one cruise auction. Is located and headquartered in Southfield Michigan and is the largest operator of art auctions on cruise ships in the United States.
