The cruise vessel MSC Lirica has caught on fire while docked at the port of Corfu in Greece.
Msc cruise ship fire. MSC Cruises put out the following statement on March 12 at 1235 pm EST. The blaze broke out on the ship believed to be the MSC Lirica at 330pm local time. One of MSC Cruises ships caught fire on Friday off the coast of Corfu Greece.
No injuries have been reported following the fire. According to local media sources the fire occurred on Friday 12 March at 1530 local time. Firefighters were battling the blaze after it broke out Friday afternoon.

A fire on board MSC Lirica which seems to be originated in an empty lifeboat on deck 6 was reported to the emergency services earlier today in Corfu where the ship is currently in warm layup.
Black smoke and flames could be seen billowing from the starboard side of MSC Lirica as it sat in port early in the afternoon. From a preliminary assessment there was no damage to the inside of the ship but only to her side due to the flames and the dense black smoke caused by the fiberglass lifeboatsaccording to a statement from MSC Cruises. The ship continued to burn in the early afternoon for about an hour until local fire fighting assistance arrived.
Today at 342 pm. By 430 pm. A fire broke out this afternoon on MSC Lirica cruise ship according to a Greek reporter Kerkyra Simera.
